Just some ways you can help

Since 1986, FOSA volunteers have generously given many hundreds of hours to helping improve Sherwood Arboretum.

If you care about our native birdlife and native animals, it’s really rewarding to be part of our working bees on bushland restoration for just two hours of light work on the third Sunday each month.

We also have a ‘Friday weeders group’ which meets each week.

Our volunteers work closely with Brisbane Botanic Gardens supporting National Eucalypt Day (March), National Tree Day (July) and Arbor Day (October). We always welcome your support with the care of newly planted specimen trees.

Lifting the visitor experience is an important part of our work. You may like to help us tell the Arboretum story – researching its history, writing stories and assisting with Facebook posts, photography and content for this website and assisting with interpretative signage projects in the Arboretum.

We also would welcome your support with future planning for the Arboretum’s centenary on Friday 21 March 2025.
